We are a certified carbon neutral business.

Following participation in the London Mayors ‘Better Futures+ programme - a programme funded by the Mayor's office to assist businesses in getting to net zero by 2030 - we decided that more urgent action is needed, and we brought forward our pledge, achieving carbon neutrality in January 2022.

At Stem & Glory, we intend to completely decarbonise eating out, so our customers know their dining choices are sustainable ones, and we urge restaurants everywhere to join us on this journey - helping diners play their part in tacking the most critical challenge we all face.

Sustainability has always been at the forefront of all our business decisions. We only use 100% renewable energy, we do not use gas. We have a number of other initiatives within our restaurants, such as the use of contemporary furniture made from recycled post-consumer waste, and repurposed products, all of which have a significant impact on the emissions of our restaurants. We participate in several reusable cups and lunch box schemes, and we work with suppliers on reusable containers aiming to reduce single use packaging where possible.

What emissions remain once all reduction strategies have been exhausted are offset working with accredited UK and global partners on offset and carbon removal initiatives.

Future strategies also include carbon labelling on our menus via a partnership with Foodsteps which will allow customers to double up on the offset of the emissions of their meal via an optional levy which will go directly towards offset projects supported by the brand.

Packaging

It is our policy to use recycled packaging, which is then recycled. We believe this is a circular solution, where we avoid anything that is solely created for a single use.

In this way we are taking post consumer waste and re-purposing it.

Everything we use - from leaflets to our ready meal trays and even the ready meal film - is made from recycled post consumer waste, and can be recycled.

There are a couple of items that we have not yet managed to source recycled material. In these cases, we use biodegradable. Please dispose of these in your green bin where it can be taken for industrial composting.

Our delivery boxes are made from 30% recycled card and can be recycled. The inner packaging is 100% recycled and can also be recycled. The box and innards can also be composted in an industrial composter, but please recycle if possible.

Please dispose of all these items responsibly where they will be recycled. Please see these items as the valuable commodity that they are, and take a little extra time to be mindful about sorting your waste responsibly. Thanks so much :)

We are constantly seeking new sustainable solutions - we would love to hear about yours!
